On March 22, 2014 a hillside collapsed in Snohomish County, Washington. The resulting landslide buried a neighborhood and killed 43 people. The disaster shook the state of Washington.

I lived in my camper van in nearby Darrington for weeks after the disaster, embedding in the community and documenting this shared nightmare.
