Tabby DeJong, 8, has fun with her sister Mieke, 2, in a large bin of corn used as feed for the cows on the DeJong family's diary, Eaglemill Farms, near Lynden. The third generation farm is part of the Darigold farmer-owned cooperative. Farmer Jon DeJong said there is no better way to raise his kids. "They learn how to work. They get to play and they get to see and touch real animals," he said. (Joshua Trujillo, seattlepi.com)
